The
ABC's of Job Safety
Safety is more than just following your company’s
guidelines while on the job. Safety is actually
a combination of safe attitude, behavior, and
control both on and off the job. ABC = Attitude,
Behavior, and Control. Attitude means your frame
of mind – the way in which you approach
a given situation. Behavior means what you do
about it – how you react to a situation.
Control refers to making your surroundings –
where you do what you do – safe. Safe attitude,
behavior, and control add up to a safer, more
productive you. Take a moment to review you safety
ABC’s to see if you’re doing all you
can to protect yourself, your co-workers, and
your loved ones from careless, needless injury.
Temporary
Staff "Consultants"
Your temporary staff members
can be a form of consulting help, in that they
bring fresh perspectives and experiences to the
work site. They deserve the same attention to
detail, clear objectives and specific feedback
that you should strive to provide to consultants
or full-time employees. Know what you expect from
the temporary staff members’ performance
and know how you will evaluate their work. Be
specific about your expectations and provide frequent
and objective feedback. Seek feedback, too, from
your temporary staff members. What could you do
differently to improve these relationships in
the future.
Interviews: Can They
Really Predict Job Performance?
Most
companies start out the job process with an interview.
But most employers don’t understand that,
by itself, is probably not a good measure of future
job performance.
Marketing Differentiation-It's
Really The People
We define marketing as the (money making) activity
between the customer and an organization’s
assets. It is important to understand what those
assets are; and many make the mistake of including
only factories and money.
