Founded in the 1880's, Redlands quickly became the capitol of the citrus industry with 26 packing houses at its' peak. Redlands was also a major winter destination for wealthy easterners who fell in love with the climate and majestic mountain views. In turn, they gave generously to make Redlands a city unique in its' cultural surroundings which has been preserved and passed down through the years.
