Where
Is There to Go Fishing In Redlands?
Its that age-old question: Where is
there a good fishing spot? The answer: The Little Fisherman
Seafood. Daily, they seek out where the best fish can be
purchased and bring it in daily. While Mike Kalina (owner,
along with his wife, Patsy) doesnt catch the fish,
he does leave while the rest of us are sleeping to shop
for the freshest catch of the day. He then brings it back
for sale as fresh steaks and filets, and also as meals prepared
on site.
Opening at 11:00 am, Monday through Friday,
and 9:00am on Saturday, they begin to serve lunch. Their
menu features grilled Entrees, each priced at $11.95, of
Swordfish, Sea Bass, Alaska Salmon, Halibut, Shark, Tuna
and Pacific Red Snapper. Their fresh fish selection of Catalina
San Dabs, Louisiana Cat Fish and Pacific Red Snapper are
prepared pan-fried for $7.95 each. They also offer a variety
of fish and chips featuring halibut, cod, shrimp and calamari
ranging in price from $5.95 to $8.95.
Their menu is the same for dinner as it
is for lunch. But you should be aware that they also offer
fish appetizers for $5.95 each. Since they close at 8:00pm
(Monday through Friday), this is a great treat before catching
a play at the Redlands Footlighters, which is around the
corner.
Since this is a family business, you can
expect personalized and friendly service. The inside is
very open and airy. For your Neptune dining experience,
they have a great salt-water aquarium with colorful fish
set up at one end of the seating area. Now that we are in
spring, make sure that you dine on their outdoor patio area.
It is surprisingly quiet and quite peaceful. So if you want
fresh fish and dont want to guess where the fishing
spot is, then make sure that you catch the Little Fisherman
Seafood.
