What’s So Wild Here?
As you walk towards the Wild Rabbit, you’ll
notice this isn’t your usual restaurant in a super
market center. And once you enter, you’ll definitely
know that you are in a calmer world. The soft music, the
cloth table appointments and the seating arrangements all
encourages quiet conversation. This isn’t a restaurant
that operates on the wild side but a soothing place to enjoy
your meal and dining companions.
Overall the fare is prepared to the standards of fine dining,
a bit on the rich side. (But, oh so flavorful!) Since we
are coming into the warmer months, they are adding to their
menus more vegetarian meals, lighter presentations, smaller
portion options, and on selected meat dishes, you may make
a vegetarian substitution for the meat.
Their Breakfast menu has depth. There are
many choices: whether it’s their Omelets (5 different
types), their Eggs Benedicts (basically 4 types) or Belgian
Waffles and French Toast (which has a variety of fresh fruit
options). Of course, there are several offerings for their
Egg combinations. With their breakfast combinations, you
can either enjoy vegetarian, light or have a traditional
hearty breakfast – but you won’t leave hungry.
When offering Breakfast on the weekends only, you won’t
find the quick eat-and-run diners. These weekend diners
are interested in slowing the pace down and enjoying their
meal or companions.
Lunches here are much the same – not
fast food, nor is it intended to be. What struck me were
the conversations, that people were actually interested
in the conversations of those at their table. (No, I wasn’t
eavesdropping, but I could tell by their body language.)
Consistent with fine dining, they offer entrées:
a variety of pastas, chicken, Veal, Salmon, Fish N’
Chips and New York Streak. There are also a variety of sandwiches,
salads and lighter fares. It should be noted that this menu
will be enhanced to include more vegetarian dishes, vegetarian
substitutions and chicken preparations. The meals are ample
for a lunchtime size.
While the dinner selection is simple, it
offers something for everyone. There are a few Appetizers
offered, from $7.95 - $9.95, for you to enjoy before your
meals are served. There are a wide variety of entrees -
some beef items are Beef Wellington and Steak Diane, the
chicken includes Chicken and Portobello Marsala and Garlic
Chicken Wellington, some of the seafood selections are Fresh
Salmon, Orange Roughy and Stuffed Shrimp, plus a variety
of other entrée specialties. Also available is a
wine menu with a representation of wines that will complement
any of the meals. And don’t forget to ask about their
fresh desserts.
While there isn’t anything wild about
the Wild Rabbit, you’ll certainly find a quiet place
to relax and enjoy your meal with your dining companions.
