Contributing to the Redlands Historical Museum Association
is
an opportunity to help preserve items related to the history
of Redlands in order to educate the public in the history,
the community and the people of the Redlands area.
The
Building...
The City Council unanimously voted on May 2, 2000, to designate
the Old City Hall building at 30 Cajon Street as the museum
site. The Old City Hall was built in 1940 adjacent to Smiley
Park in downtown Redlands, near A. K. Smiley Public Library,
the Lincoln Memorial Shrine, and the Redlands Bowl.
The Museum Association... is a community supported
organization to promote the establishment and on going operation
of the Redlands Historical Museum. The Redlands Historical
Museum Association, a non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation established
in the year 2000, consists of a governing board of thirteen
directors. The Board of Trustees for A. K. Smiley Public
Library is designated as the administrator and manager of
the Redlands Historical Museum by Resolution No. 5800, adopted
by the City Council.
