This up coming Sunday take the time to sit down in front
of the T.V. and watch a Redlands family have their life
change in one week, as the ABC's
Extreme Makeover Home Edition team transformed their
humble house on San Mateo Street into the house of their
dreams. If you did’t have time to go and watch the
makeover in process this summer, you will be in for a big
surprise as local companies and hundreds of volunteers pitch
in to help the Grinnan family, come home to a new house.
Andrew
Turner of Modern
Home Relics on the corner of Orange and Citrus, said”
I thought it was a practical joke when they called,”
referring to Hollywood coming to Redlands. Modern
Home Relics ended up donating a lot of work as well
as furniture, filling up the living room, dining room master
bedroom and guesthouse with everything from lamps to mirrors
to candle holders to sofa’s. Modern
Home Relics also produced manpower, with six employees
working in rotation for five days on the house. Turner said
“ I’m a fan of the show so it’s surreal
to be involved in it.”
Just
up the street from Modern
Home Relics is Sisters
Home Embellishments, who also donated to the Grinnan
family cause by giving a vintage painted secretary’s
desk for daughter Sarah’s bedroom. The ABC
Extreme Makeover Home Edition makeover team came to
both stores in order to transform the Grinnan’s house
into a dream home.
Be sure to catch the show this Sunday, October 16th, on
ABC at 8:00pm and see the
whole transformation take place, as well as guest country
music recording artist, Lee Ann Womack surprising the Grinnan
family as they see their new house.
